A&S Competition
Once again we will be holding a mock A&S Competition. There will be someone in the appropriate room to help you set up your display if you so desire.
We hope to present a chance for those of us who are more experienced to show off our skills as well as allowing those wanting to enter the competitive circuit for the first time a chance to see how the process works and how they can improve their projects and/or their documentation for upcoming events.
Competition will be held in accordance with SCA guidelines and criteria. See http://www.midrealm.org/moas/criteria/contents.html for list of divisions and judging standards.
Tables open at 9am and all entries must be on display by 11:00am. Tables will close at 4pm and all items must be picked up by 4:45pm. A discussion will be held between individual competitors and the judges from 4:30pm on to go over why things were judged the way they were. Bardic contestants will be given a time and room assignment at sign-ups on the second floor.
Poetry, Prose, and Music Composition must be postmarked by December 31, 2010, in order for judges to have time to adequately review them before the event. They can be sent to Lord Orry Guerin (mka Jim Benedicktus) at 3910 W. Main St., Decatur, IL 62522. Please send three copies. In addition, you can send electronic copies (only one needed) to Lord Orry at orryguerin@hotmail.com.
In addition to division judging, there will also be a populace vote. Small prizes will be awarded and winners will be acknowledged along with our combat and history quiz winners.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn what the SCA competition circuit is all about!
