1/9/14: Unfortunately, on Friday night Illini A-B-C is taken by another group, so it won’t be available for equipment drop-off. Please bring your equipment on Saturday.

Armored Combat schedule

Armored combat will be held in Illini A-B-C. (Merchants and A&S display will be nearby.)

Saturday

9:00am – Authorizations and Inspections begin
10:00am – Novice Tournament
10:30am - Sergeants  and Captains Tournament
~11:30am – HRH holds the list round 1
12:30pm – Open Pool Tournament
~2:30 – HRH holds the list round 2
4:00pm – Lists Close

Sword and Shield authorizations will be run first. Additional authorizations will run simultaneous to the Novice Tourney

Novice – The novice tournament is open to anyone who has never won a tournament nor received a combat award. Please note that novice does not mean new and anyone meeting this criteria is encouraged to enter. This tournament will be fought on either one or two lists and will be either pool or round robin depending on number of entrants.

Sergeants and Captains Tournament – Open to members of the Red Company who have not been elevated to the order of Chivalry. This will be a standard double elimination tournament fought on four fields. The semi finals will be challenge in from the losers bracket as Middle Crown has been fought for many years now. The final round will be fought best of five with different styles from the in the following order – Two Handed Sword, Mass Weapon and Shield, Two Weapon, Pole Arm, Sword and Shield. Single handed swords are limited to 42″, single handed mass weapons are limited to 30″, and two handed weapons are limited 6′.

Open – This will be the now traditional pool tournament fought on all lists. Pools will be between 8-12 fighters per pool, exact numbers of fighters and pools will depend on the number of entrants . Double kills count as a loss for each fighter. The top fighters from each pool advancing to four new pools of 8. Time allowing, this will then produce two pools from which two finalists will emerge to face each other in a best two of three bout with different weapons from from the following choices – Sword and Shield, Two Weapon, Pole Arm, Spear, Mass Weapon and Shield. First choice will go to the fighter with lesser precedence, then the other. If a third round is needed, it will be royal choice but not a repeat. If time runs short then the top two for the second four pools will hold a single elimination tourney to select the final two.

HRH holds the list – His Royal Highness Ragnvaldr will hold the list twice. The first time after the initial tourneys are over and then during the latter portion of the pool tournament. The exact timing of these is dependent on the whim of TRH.

Marshals will be needed to help but all marshals will be able to fight in the tournament. Baroness Rowan Connor will be running the lists for all tournaments.

Sunday

10am – 2pm: Traditional Sunday morning practice will be taking place from  in Illini A-B-C.

There will be room for both heavy and rapier practice.

Armor and weapons will be allowed to be left in the ballroom following court. The room will be locked overnight and unlocked at 10am the next morning.

Other Sunday activities are also available for non-combatants.

Rapier Combat Schedule

Rapier combat is held in the 2nd floor ballroom.
